Light Tackle Bite Is On Fire

Susan and Richie Silver fished with me this past Wednesday, they love action fishing with light tackle, and the conditions could not be better. A Light wind from the ESE and current with the wind, ideal for some light tackle fun. I know right away we were in for a treat of a day but first the bait, one throw of the castnet and a livewell full of pilchards.
It did not take long to get into the action, Big Ladyfish started hitting right away followed by plenty of Seatrout. Then the Spanish and King Macks showed up in the pilchard chumline.
Susan used the Bonefish Trek, Diablo 350 combo
to catch this large Ladyfish

Richie Silver used the 350 Diablo spooled
with 10lb Horizon braid
and a Rage Ultralight rod to catch this Ladyfish of 4lbs

Richie and Susan really put the Fox Bonefish and Rage Ultra light rods to work. The Diablo 350 spinning reels loaded with Horizon Braid never missed a turn. We finished the day hitting a bomb crater to catch a limit of Mangrove Snapper for a tasty dinner.

Earlier in the week on their last trip Bernard and Paul Pielow released a couple of Tarpon. We were fishing the local bridge channels with live Mullet. Lots of rain again the last two days spoiling my weekend fishing trips. Going over all my tackle and gearing up for the upcoming Sailfish season.

I'll be back fishing starting this coming Saturday in the backcountry.
